Morgan and I woke up not realizing the epic day it would become, nor that we were about to birth The Farmers Market Quest today. Our spur of the moment market videos and pictures developed into a story we were eager and proud to share. Hopefully history will look back at our first Farmers Market Quest video kindly since it was filmed with no redos for this crew! We’ve had a blast creating it for you and hope you’ll follow us on many more journeys to find the world’s best farmers market.

All week I had been craving a fresh heirloom tomato salad so we decided to head to the Davis Farmers Market to pick up a few for dinner. Davis is located about 20 miles from Sacramento; it’s home to UC Davis well known for its medical and veterinary school. This town has all the charm you would expect from a small college town.

Check out the video here!

What we’re buzzing about at the Davis Farmers Market...honestly this market set the bar pretty high for all future markets on our quest to find the best.

The location is ideal in their charming downtown close to restaurants and shops. Given the location there is only street parking which gets more crowded later in the day but arrive early and you shouldn’t have much trouble. The large park bordering the market has plenty of space for picnicking and playing with the kids. The market does not allow dogs but we spotted several dogs on leashes in the park.

We love the covered canopy providing shade and plenty of space to stroll the vendor booths. I particularly love talking to the farmers who picked their fruits and veggies that morning. At the Davis Farmers Market you will also find a diverse selection of package goods and hot meal items. The market manager does a great job at ensuring shoppers will find balanced diversity among the products.
